DEFINITION OF ROOFING COMPONENTS I~ covERlife® DEFINITION DES ELEMENTS DE COUVERTURE Gutter line: Lower part of the roofing surface where gutter system and downspout are assembled. Overhang: Portion of the roof extending beyond the exterior walls of a building. Wall covering: roofing sheets represent an optimum solution also for siding and wall covering of buildings (particularly industrial models). Inclined ridge line: It is the intersection line between two sloping planes on top of which the diagonal ridge is installed. Transversal axis: It is parallel to the gutter line. Longitudinal axis: It is parallel to the pitch slope. Stepped flashing: Joint element between the sloping plane (roof pitch) and the vertical surface (wall). Fascia: Element placed where the edge of a roof and the wall meet to protect this intersection area. Ridge: Joint element between two sloping roof planes, available in different models according to the type of roofing sheet being used. 3-Way ridge: the item joins the ridge and the diagonal ridges together. To mount the 3-way ridge in the right way it must put under the ridge and it must overlap 2 diagonal ridges. Diagonal ridge: it joins the different lateral and frontal roof pitches which meet at the inclined ridge line. The lateral ends may be shaped during the sheet laying. Faitiere: point de raccord des differents versants. Faitiere a trois voies: utilisee lorsque la toiture comporte trois parties. ll est l'element qui permet le raccordement entre la faitiere et la faitiere/aretier diagonale. Faitiere diagonale: utilisee pour raccorder Les parties laterales ou frontales du toit en correspondance avec la ligne de faitage. Faitiere terminale: accessoire qui permet la finition de la faitiere superieure ou de la faitiere/aretier diagonale.
