drainage-channels-en-2024

11 Installation is fast and easy as our product is very light to handle and extremely stable and strong once set in position. The components to be installed being very lightweight, the plastic structures to be put in the trenches are not load-bearing, but they become so thanks to the support of the concrete where they are immersed. Carefully adhere to the guidelines given below. To obtain the load class indicated for each channel, refer to the table (A) for sizing of the castings. Situation when trench is much larger than the channel to be installed: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Dig a trench of at least 5 cmon both sides of the channel. Join the channel together with solvent-cement, to make it water-proof. Place the channel in the semi-dry mix, and fill the rest of the trench with a wet-mix of cement. It is very important that the cement is right up under the shoulder of the channel, as a void or a gap will undermine the strenght of the channel, and will cause problems later on. Place the grid or covers on immediatly, as the setting cement will close in the channel. Put a concrete base (semi-dry mix), 10 cm deep in trench. It is advisable to have the surrounding concrete, some millimeters higher than the edge of the channel. This aids drainage, and in certain circumstances can protect the grid or cover, especially if heavy-goods vehicles tyres are locking directly on top of the grids or covers. It is also advisable to keep boiling tar from coming into contact with the product. 1) Use wood supports to level or position the channel in the trench. 2) Use a wood framework to act as a former on both sides of the channel. Connection with discharge networks can be customized according to project requirements. Areas used only by pedestrians and cyclists.
