MARKED PRODUCTS LOAD CLASS OF GRIDS AND COVERS 7 The marking, that is an acronym for Conformité Européenne, was established by the EU to distinguish the products having the characteristics defined in Directive 89/106/EEC on construction products. The Directive was introduced to set common technical criteria that would improve reliability and safety of construction products. The marking is mandatory for products that make the object of an EU Directive, entitles them to free circulation in the European Economic Area and forbids whatever type of restriction on their commerce by Member Countries. The manufacturer is required put into effect strict production control procedures. All products bearing this marking must be lab-tested by Organizations acknowledged on the basis of their competence. Once the tests are successfully completed, the Organizations certify product conformity with the reference standard. The manufacturer must affix the marking onto the products in an undeletable manner. The PRATIKO and PRATIKO-XL drainage channels, grids and covers from the series 100 - 130 - 200 all bear the marking, which guarantees their compliance with the EN 1433:2008 Standard “Drainage channels for vehicular and pedestrian areas”. The breaking load values concerning the PVC Antishock grids and covers were obtained with a test method based on the UNI EN 124 standard. This method provides that the test press be fitted with punches in different diameters depending on the size of the cover or grid being put under pressure.
